The eclipse

Post by John Bales »

I wonder how the fish will react with this eclipse coming, something that won't happen again for over 100 years. Will they react positive, or negative or who cares? It should be a different light condition maybe or maybe not. Just thinking. I'm going to try and be out there to see. Will the local weather conditions off set this happening? Don't know. John

Steve, Seth called yesterday on his way home and said he was disappointed in himself for not figuring out how to catch the fish like Mr. Jones. Sounds like not many but Josh and his friend are getting the giants. Seth had some short conversations with Josh at the boat ramp on a couple days. Sounds like he left a day early and looked at one of the other reservoirs on the way home. Over all, he said he was very glad he went just to see this place and try and get a 10. He was only a pound and 4 oz off which is a win in my eyes. Biggest problem was not enough experience knowing the difference between a carp and a bass. I told him it would come in time. Experience is the best teacher and not many of us around here are trying to distinguish between a giant bass and a carp. We just don't have giant bass. John

I have heard of one of the other reservoirs just north and west of there that are producing some 14's.

Sounds like he did well with a new PB!

I may take a day or two after Im with Josh and check it out. Im heading to Austin on the 19th to see my Granddaughter ( who is having our first Great Grandson in June), over that weekend, then spending 4 days on Granada in Miss. then off to Nashville to watch my Second oldest Granddaughter Graduate from Belmont College. Plan to hit Percy Priest while there. Then a fast trip back home. At some point I am planning to head back to Indiana to visit my Son and his kids. May have to bum a boat seat with you while there, if you got the time? I doubt ill bring the big boat. Might squeeze in my Zodiac if i have room. Also another Montana trip might be in the works. I got kids all over the country! Not enough time in the year! Canada in October. Me and Turbo Jim McDonald are planning to hit Navajo again this summer too!
