wavepro or smooth moves seat

Post by site admin »

Anyone have one of these seats? Thinking of getting one. My back is still 100% good, but maybe time to take some precautions now!

Hi Jim,

I have both and this is my take. Both are excellent units although you have to ask Blake which one is more comfortable since I rarely sit in the passenger seat. Id say they both a lot easier on the back especially on the great lakes.

Smooth Moves: Great Unit very happy you can adjust the height, and tension very easily. USA made very solid construction and very comfortable.
Some sites I have read that they launch you or are to bouncy. Disagree completely, its like driving in a Cadillac very comfortable and absorbs all the shock.
The only negative is, I change the position of the passenger seat often depending on passenger preference and not very mobile. You would have an extra seat base in place and the base protrudes about 3 inches above the level of the floor which is safety hazard. For the driver seat no issue at all great unit and best money spent.

Wave Pro: Another great unit very well made and durable. The advantage of this unit for me is I can pick it up and move it as to another position in boat in a minute. Its set up like most other seat post that insert into the floor. Negatives are more costly that the smooth no height adjustment at all.
The adjustment for weight of passenger a bit cumbersome you have to take out the are pump and adjust like a bike tire. For me it works perfectly because of the versatility. Another thing is there is an upcharge for every single accessory. It was around $1100 and that is without the lock that prevents seat from swiveling which was another $125 I think.

Both units are excellent and I am satisfied with the investment.

PS: Very rare to see them on market place or craigs and they are not discounted and do not go on sale. Say hello to Casey, see you on the water and keep me updated.
