Re: Insightful Perspectives on This Course of study

Hey Joe,

I think when the original post came through I thought it was spam. There were a couple of odd posts going through so I deleted it, I think.

Yep - I deleted the spammer account and his posts, but couldn’t delete the entire thread, so MuskyAddict’s reply to the spammer was just sitting ...

Re: Happy Holidays

Also just wanted to let you all know that Kyle Hall just caught an 18.82 pound LM out of O.H. Ivie on the 23rd! Lone Star Bass!

Merry Christmas, all! That 18.82 was a typo some site posted a few days back. Kyle’s caught a 15.82, along with two other SAL fish including a 16. An 18.82 would have ...

Re: Idaho smallmouth

Dworshak has been the primary location for the majority of the big smallie catches as best I can tell, but I’m sure they’ve checked out others while in the area.

Re: Something I noticed

I will add one thought, and that is to take a pass occasionally through the shallows to keep ‘em honest. With a dying back deeper weedline, the fish can either go deeper/suspended or shallower. Buck wrote that in less than 8-10 ft of water, cover becomes the adjustment to offset a bad situation, and ...

Re: NPFL Banning FFS 2025

And now BASS has announced ‘technology restrictions,’ but not a complete ban on FFS - just some restrictions. Just leaves MLF to decide how they’re going to operate in 2025.

Re: More on shallow lakes

Agree with the guys above - the 41 bridge and causeway road, the Fox R leading into and out of the lake, and the point and bay just NW of the 41 bridge, plus any hard spots and breaks you can find. Looks like a 500/400 type of lake except for the few noted holes.

Re: Knowledge: gadgets vs effort

Life is short - just go do “your own thing,” whatever that is. In the end, we all have to be at the right place, at the right time, fishing in the right manner if we are to be successful. The fishes activity level and movements play a big role in that. The new tools can be very useful, but how much ...

I believe that video was released on April 1 as an April Fools’ Day joke…on TikTok even. But if you freeze the screen at the end, this is what it says. We’ll know soon enough. I’m guessing a prank - for now.

Re: Josh Jones on FFS.

Exactly the setup I was referencing, Steve - Thanks! You can now put a bait exactly where it needs to run depth-wise on the troll in a fast, efficient manner - no more trial and error, or having to have years of “feel.” You can see exactly how close to the bottom you are running at all times ...

What does this do for me. I simply cannot discuss what knowledge has been gained the past couple of years with someone who has not used it. It would be like trying to have a conversation with a non spoonplugger who wouldn't understand what you were talking about anyways so I won't say much on that ...

Re: Depth and speed question

Absolutely - IMO. For example, one structure situation I have here is a roadbed that runs across the lake and is anywhere from 1’-3’ above the basin depth, and pretty much 9’ to 12’ on top. Some days I catch them trolling Spoonplugs at 2-4 mph banging the road; some days a deep crank cast and ...
