Re: Happy Holidays

Thanks for the imput. I got this idea watching a few Wisconsin guys hooking Muskies thru the ice. Videos are interesting but not a lot of solid information as to how to.
On most of the open water lakes I fish, I have shore sightings for the structures and contact points that hold fish in open water ...

Re: Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas ! Just a thought for those that Ice fish... I do not and will not be standing on frozen water, but I was wondering is there any thing to be learned about a lake that could be used during the open water part of the year?
I do not think there is any thing in the Green book or Home ...

Re: Lake trout lake Erie Ohio waters

J. Borst said " Hey, a LT is a LT no matter where he swims right?"
In the study guides it seems to me that Buck mentioned this same idea ... "Water is water and fish are fish wherever you go"Nice intel on Lakers.

The Aqua Meter went on sale in the Mid 1970's Amazing that the same arguments were used then as they are used now. AquaMeter even used them in their promotional pieces and marketing information. How many can remember or even have used this equipment?

Re: Idaho smallmouth

He was at Dworshak. It is a great lake, but also a typical Highlander. I fished it this past summer and caught LOTS of smaller fish, but nothing in the 6 to 9 pound range. Josh is the FFS Man! It was at 110% full when i was there, and it was -40 feet when he was! It makes a BIG difference when it ...

Re: Something I noticed

I will add one thought, and that is to take a pass occasionally through the shallows to keep ‘em honest. With a dying back deeper weedline, the fish can either go deeper/suspended or shallower. Buck wrote that in less than 8-10 ft of water, cover becomes the adjustment to offset a bad situation ...

Re: Something I noticed

I always found that this time of the year fishing is very hit or miss. As you mentioned John, the "change" starts happening (unstable). Went down to central and southern Il a week ago. Fished 2 lakes I know very well. A few small bass on one lake and zero on the other. This changing/unstable ...
